The Phantom Depot at Pinehurst Park

  This is just so strange.

There used to be an amusement park in Worcester Massachusetts, called "Pinehurst Park". (Or, as has been claimed- was it really in Auburn?) Like Whalom Park in Lunenburg, Mountain Park in Holyoke, and Canobie Lake Park in Salem New Hampshire, it was served by a trolley line. Like these other parks, it had a roller coaster. But that's about all we know about it. Because unlike these other amusement parks, Pinehurst Park has been completely lost to history. In fact, no one today even knows where it WAS. It's as if an amusement park completely vanished.

All that seems to be known about Pinehurst Park is gleaned from antique postcards published around 1906. Beyond that- zip. Nothing. (Go ahead, do a Google search. You'll come up with next to nothing.)

  This shows the trolley depot:

Here is a view from the roller coaster:

These next two seem to be from near the depot as well:

The only site I could find online regarding Pinehurst Park was this small page from a Worcester nostalgia website. On this site, based on these same postcard views, people have written to speculate about where this park was. And none of them know where it was. Nobody seems to.

So what gives? What happened to the trolley depot? What became of the roller coaster? Where WAS this amusement park? And why is it completely and totally lost to history?

Any info would be most appreciated. I can be reached here ---->
