Sometimes I'll come across an interesting relic, like this one, found lying on the ground near the site of an old depot. Whenever I ask online, sooner or later someone will identify it, and this was no exception.

This one is also a "solved" depot mystery. I had photographed a couple of early "replacement" depots at Cherry Brook in Weston and Tower Hill in Wayland, Mass. Years later I tried to find Tower Hill, but wasn't sure just where it was. Click here to see why.
